SF Climate Week 2026: Two Conversations Worth Having

This April, Herderin is showing up for SF Climate Week in two ways — and both feel true to what this brand has always been about.

On April 17, Herderin is part of The Living Archive at Startup Art Fair — an immersive fashion show and experiential exhibit celebrating regenerative design, textile repair, and cultural heritage. It's a night of wearable art, community, and proof that fashion can hold memory and meaning without costing the earth.

And don't miss Alix on the designer discussion panel April 18 at Hotel del Sol at 1:30 pm.

On April 21, founder Alix Vasquez takes the stage at Recharge Your Closet — a lightning talk series co-presented by @rethinktherunway and @sfclimateweek — to present The Ritual of Dress: Why Sustainable Fashion Starts with the Self. Drawing from her sociological research on sartorial labor, Alix makes the case that a deeper, more intentional relationship with getting dressed is where sustainable fashion actually begins.

Two events. One throughline: clothing as a practice of care — for yourself, for makers, for the planet.

april 17 - 19 | THE LIVING ARCHIVE exhibition & panel discussion

A two-part immersive fashion show & experiential exhibit celebrating regenerative design, cultural heritage, textile repair, and community connection. Hosted by Kara Fabella.

Presented at StartUp Art Fair, the event brings together local makers and designers to transform upcycled textiles, heirloom fabrics, and reclaimed materials into wearable art — all while fostering meaningful connection between designers, repair communities, and the local fashion community.

OPENING NIGHT — FASHION SHOW

Friday, April 17, 8 PM

The Living Archive opens with a runway show spotlighting local innovation in ethical fashion. Designers range from regenerative and recycled material practices to makers weaving a modern twist into their cultural heritage. The show is an open invitation to connect with the ever growing local design community.
