Over a decade of the craft

I have sewn so many garments.
Made bridal gowns and outfits.
Watched & witnessed many people get clothed.
So many bolts of natural cloth, from the moment they are unrolled til the last yard.
All the plant-dye experiments: mistakes, triumphs, routines.
So much learning. Education by doing. Repetition. Year after year.
All the people who have helped me in the studio, helping me figure it out as I go.

I am embarking on a new chapter:
One that honors the space I need to separate orders from the enjoyment of my craft.
I need my studio back for me,
so that Herderin can purvey the ❤️🔥🤌🏽🌹

After building a friendship with Johnny over the last 3 years, he and his family-like sewers will be taking over production in San Francisco. They play ping pong 3 floors up. Good energy. Good relationships. This is what I am all about.

There is an article about him on the Herderin Journal.

I have no expectations for what Herderin will become, & I have no fear about its expansion. I’m just excited, open, curious, enthusiastic, relieved. The decision to officially hand over production was actually the hardest part. I already scheduled into my spiritual notebook to fail & learn, so.

What will be will be.

I like that I was born in San Francisco and that this vision, for everywhere it’s been, gets to have this birth of a new chapter in my hometown.
