Autumn is always a time of reflection as the seasons shift from the big energy of summer into the contemplative depths of winter; a transition period where nostalgia grips hard and gently reminds us of what we want to carry forward and what we want to let go of. It can be a soft time to hold ourselves and prepare for the slower dormancy of the colder months.

Herderin wanted to design a piece that could hold you in these transitory times.

We created our sweaterdress collection as an ode to that childhood embrace you’d feel by wearing your mother’s oversized sweater. Being wrapped in the scent of someone you love and the comfort that is transmitted through a well-worn item of clothing. We wanted to create the big-ness in clothing that always feels comfortable, inviting — room to just be your complete self in. For many people, clothing has become so many other things — an identity, a fashion statement, a class signifier, etc. But at its core, clothing is about protection, warmth. 

We wanted to give that back to you. We wanted to give you something that would evoke safety and love. Your own emotional security blanket as you walk through life. A safe hug that can be worn everywhere you go with the versatility for everyday life.

The Herderin Sweaterdress collection is made with 100% natural fibers. Created in merino wool and organic cotton waffle knit, these comfortable and warm materials provide all-season ease. Its simple design allows you to dress it up for work and dinner parties, or wear as is in all areas of your life.
